Until now, all of our work and achievements have been funded by research grants and donations from animal welfare charities, The Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA) of the UK government, the British and Irish Association of Zoos and Aquariums (BIAZA), UK zoos and the University of Nottingham (UoN). Our project has also been supported by the University of Nottingham’s Digital Research Service, the Elephant Welfare Group, and volunteered assistance from students at UoN School of Veterinary Medicine and Science.
